Company Timeline
2000 – The Company organized as a partnership between the management team and Norm Waitt Jr. (Co-founder of Gateway Computers)

2001 – The Company begins operations with the opening of its first Data Center at the Southroads facility in Bellevue, NE.

2002 – The Company entered the business continuity environment with the opening of a 400 seat Work Group Recovery facility. The WGR offering was the direct result of client requests for a local, high availability hot site for Work Group Recovery. In addition, the Company becomes the first data center in the region to enhance its bandwidth offering with a BGP routing capability providing routing transparency between multiple carriers.

2003 – As part of the managed services offering and to support several Fortune 100 companies, SolutionsDeskTM was introduced to facilitate the monitoring and management of client systems and networks, 24x7.

2004 – The Company established the region’s only Print-to-Mail Recovery service. In conjunction with the build out of the Print and Mail facility, the Omaha Data Center was expanded, more than doubling the Company’s raised floor offering. The Company also became one of the area’s largest providers of high availability Internet bandwidth. The Company was listed as one of the fastest growing companies in Omaha by the Omaha Chamber of Commerce.

2005 – The Company’s continued growth in collocation, business continuity and managed services drove a new branding of the Company’s offerings. The CoSentry brand was introduced providing one source for Work Group and Print-to-Mail Recovery along with Data Center Collocation and associated managed technical services. Continued strong client demand drove the expansion of the Omaha Work Group Recovery capability from 400 seats to 550 seats. CoSentry also established a 500 seat Work Group Recovery and Data Center facility in Kansas City, Missouri and a 200 seat Work Group Recovery and Data Center facility in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. CoSentry’s proprietary SolutionsDesk™ tool went international in order to support, monitor, maintain and provide SLA compliance and service dispatch for customers worldwide. CoSentry is recognized by the AIM Institute as the Technology Company of the Year.

2006 – The Company Introduced disk based storage services for small and mid-size businesses. CoSentry also added high end storage devices to manage data storage requirements for clients requiring terabytes of storage. The Company made significant hardware investments in its server offering and enhanced its server management tool sets. The Company introduced enhancements to SolutionsDesk™ and to CoSentry’s technical call center infrastructure and experienced rapid growth in its Level 1, 2 and 3 Service Desk Operations (SDO) capabilities. CoSentry is recognized by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce for business excellence.

2007 – The Company completed additional raised floor suites in Omaha and Kansas City. By year end, the Company had over 15,600 sq. ft. of raised floor space in addition to 1,250 Work Group Recovery seats and the region’s largest Print Recovery capability. CoSentry’s SolutionsDeskTM application was monitoring and managing over 150,000 systems and devices worldwide. CoSentry’s facilities encompass over 110,000 sq. ft. of infrastructure dedicated to Business Collocation and Resiliency Services that made CoSentry the largest network of business solutions in the region. CoSentry’s success came from our commitment to our clients, our ability to listen to their recommendations and to develop solutions that meet our client’s requirements. The company completes its SAS 70 Type II certification as well as compliance with PCI DSS version 1.2 Physical Security. In recognition of its commitment to client communication and solutions development, CoSentry was awarded the 2007 Excellence in Business Award from the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce.

2008 – Due to increased market demands, the Company launched additional raised floor expansion efforts in both the Omaha and Kansas City markets. CoSentry added over 6,400 sq. ft. of raised floor space bringing total raised floor space under management to approximately 21,000 sq. ft. The Company also announced that the McCarthy Group had partnered with CoSentry’s Management and Waitt Enterprises to provide additional capital and strategic resources. CoSentry was a finalist for the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce ABEX awards.

2009 – CoSentry expands its managed services offering to include Managed Disk Backup, Virtual Server Resources and industry leading Private Cloud Services. Exclusive regional agreements with EMC, VMware and Cisco for advanced infrastructure and specialized licensing, position the company for future and aggressive growth in the Software as a Service (SaaS) market as well as the IaaS market place. CoSentry expands its VSR offering to include platforms in Europe and Asia for domestic SaaS providers requiring low latency solutions for their international clients. CoSentry is recognized by Inc. Magazine for the third time as one of the country’s fastest growing business.

2010 – The Midlands Data Center, the regions only Hardened Tier IV, six 9’s, LEED Silver, OSHA compliant data center is completed. The Midlands facility is the regions first extreme density data center designed from the ground up to provide private cloud and colocation services with unmatched six 9’s performance and reliability. CoSentry achieved NIST certification in 2010 and celebrated its 10th year anniversary as the leading provider of private cloud and colocation services in the region. CoSentry is recognized by Inc. Magazine for the fourth time as one of the country’s fastest growing business and was the recipient of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce award for Excellence in Business.

2011 – CoSentry launched its OnLine VS2IR (virtual server, storage and internet resources) web order entry and provisioning service in January of 2011. Entering our second decade of service CoSentry is well positioned with Private Cloud, Colocation and Resiliency Services along with the technical expertise required support complex solutions for our clients. Assuring that CoSentry will be the partner of choice for enterprise clients for years to come.
